When connecting with 20 or more Gathertown video streams, Gathertown will be heavier on your system. <\/li><li>Download, install, and use the Gathertown Desktop which may help performance: (<a href=\"https:\/\/gather.town\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/gather.town\/download<\/a>)<\/li><li>Turn off HD video or smooth movement <ul><li>When you're in our Gathertown space, go to Settings &gt; User Tab &gt; Use HD Video Quality or Smooth Movement then turn one or both of the settings off.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instructions for Using Gathertown<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li><strong>Gather is available to Chrome and Firefox users. It may not work, or work as well, on other browsers.<\/strong><\/li><li>After you click our Gathertown link and enter the password, you'll see a screen where you can enter your name (use your full name so others can find you easily) and specify audio\/visual preferences.<\/li><li>Next, when you enter the room, there's a tutorial (takes less than a minute) to familiarize yourself with Gather Town. It covers:<ol><li>Moving around using your keyboard.<\/li><li>Muting and unmuting yourself.<\/li><li>Interacting with objects.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Once you enter the space itself, you can move around the room with your mouse cursor\/pointer. You can't walk through walls, but you can walk through people by holding down G on your keyboard while you move.<\/li><li>You'll find a toolbar on the bottom of the screen with a few icons:<ol><li>Note that there's a little lag as people move in and out of conversations, so be patient.<\/li><li>Share screen allows you to share the screen with those in your circle of interaction. You can use this function, or you can use a document\/slide deck in the shared google folder that you can each open and edit together like a whiteboard.<\/li><li>Minimap gives a broader view of the room you're in. You can enter other rooms and use Minimap to see what\u2019s there.<\/li><li>Use the avatar icon in the toolbar to switch your avatar\u2019s appearance.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Click on the participant list to see who's in the room. To locate participants, click on their names and use \u201clocate\u201d. Attendees should respect common-sense rules for public behaviour, personal interaction, courtesy, and respect for all meeting participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Anti-Discrimination<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VVF organizing committee prohibits discrimination against other meeting participants because of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, religion, national origin, ancestry, or different abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Harassment-Free Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VVF is dedicated to providing its members and meeting attendees a harassment-free experience. Harassment in any form, including but not limited to, harassment based on national origin, race, religion, sex, gender, or any other status protected by laws in which the conference or program is being held, will not be tolerated. Harassment includes the use of abusive or degrading language, intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Enforcement Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Violations of any of the above policy should be reported immediately to any of the VVF organizing committee representative.
