Faculty Fellow
Alexandra Widmer, settler scholar, is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ in Toronto. She has conducted ethnographic and archival research on the impact of British and Australian colonial histories on women’s health, nutrition and reproduction in the southwestern Pacific. As well, she has published on the global and colonial history of demographic thinking and practice, particularly on its connection with racism(s) and economization.
She studied International Development and Anthropology at Dalhousie University for her BA and MA. After her PhD in Anthropology at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin.
