
Chris Houston is a British-Canadian based in Bancroft, Ontario, Canada. A graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University, Chris co-founded and presides over the Canadian Peace Museum, leading its fundraising efforts to establish a new museum in Ontario. As the principal consultant for Humanitarian Associates, he specializes in humanitarian innovation and health, advising innovators and funders on scaling up innovations and programming.
Chris has extensive international humanitarian experience. He was the head of logistics for the World Health Organization in Yemen. He has worked in logistics and in program management M茅decins Sans Fronti猫res in Papua New Guinea, Canada, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Turkey, and Pakistan. He has worked for the Red Cross in the UK, Nepal, and Lebanon.
Chris is an award-winning part-time faculty at the University of Toronto's Global Health Education Initiative and is an editor of the Oxford Handbook of Humanitarian Medicine.
In Canada, Chris co-founded kid-E-care pediatric urgent care clinic. He contributes a weekly column, Stories of Peace, to The Bancroft Times and has held non-profit governance roles at M茅decins Sans Fronti猫res Canada, ALIMA Canada, Conquer COVID-19, Humanitarian Partners International, and the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health. He serves on the Community Safety 快播视频 and Wellbeing Committee of Bancroft Town Council.
