Dahdaleh Global Health Graduate Scholar, Lassonde School of Engineering
Graduate Student Scholar

Gaurav is a PhD candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ, supervised by Professor Satinder Kaur Brar. His research investigates the transport, fate, and impacts of microplastics in wastewater treatment systems. His work addresses three critical gaps:
1. How microbial colonization affects microplastic removal efficiency
2. The breakdown of microplastics into biologically invasive nanoplastics
3. Developing cost-effective containment solutions adaptable to global infrastructure
This research aligns with the Dahdaleh Institute's planetary health mission by protecting both ecosystems and human health through scalable water security solutions.
