Dr. Pranav Bhushan is a Public Health Specialist at the Institute of Global Public Health (IGPH), Faculty of Community Medicine, University of Manitoba. With over 13+ years of experience, he specializes in health system strengthening, quality improvement, and public health program implementation across key domains, including Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), urban health, and primary healthcare. His work focuses on designing and executing evidence-based strategies to enhance healthcare service delivery, ensuring equitable access to quality health services.
Throughout his career, Pranav has played a pivotal role in implementing and managing public health programs and policies for vulnerable and marginalized population. He led efforts to improve healthcare services in underperforming districts as part of the Government of India’s flagship ‘Aspirational District Program’, where he led the team in designing and implementing data-driven interventions to enhance health system performance. His expertise extends to developing qualitative and quantitative assessment tools for monitoring, analyzing, and improving program effectiveness within a broader health system strengthening approach.
In addition to program implementation, Pranav has significant experience in policy analysis, research methodologies, and evidence-based policymaking. He has worked extensively on documenting health policies, identifying key gaps, and formulating actionable recommendations to improve governance structures and service delivery models. His ability to bridge research, policy, and implementation has made him a valuable resource in shaping data-driven public health interventions.
Currently, Pranav is leading the Health system performance assessment (HSPA) across Low Middle Income countries (LMICs), developing program frameworks and conducting policy analysis with a focus on health equity and system resilience. His work involves collaborating with governments, academic institutions, and global health organizations to drive innovative strategies that result in measurable improvements in healthcare outcomes.
