Artificial Intelligence Activity Recognition Research Assistant, Global Health Intern [W25; S25]
Intern

Syed Haider is a Research Assistant at the Dahdaleh Institute, focusing on AI-driven activity recognition in augmented reality (AR). He develops object detection methods using Meta’s SAM and OpenCV, integrates large language models (LLMs) for intent inference, and designs algorithms to track and analyze user actions. His work explores verbal cue integration and hardware feasibility for deploying AI models on various platforms.
With experience in autonomous systems, sensor fusion, and computer vision, Syed has worked at General Motors and contributed to AI research in neuroimaging and autonomous vehicles. Syed is currently on path to completing a Specialized Honours Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from ¿ì²¥ÊÓÆµ.
