The Changing Face of Iceland represents the third installment in Mark Terry’s trilogy of polar documentaries focusing on the impacts climate change on the island nation of Iceland. Touching the Arctic Circle at its north end, changes to Iceland’s glaciers, land, flora, fauna, fish, economy, and people are examined in this feature documentary film.
Interviews with climate scientists and researchers, marine biologists, tourism industry experts, and even the Prime Minister of Iceland herself, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, are featured together with striking footage of Iceland’s natural beauty with an original score by award-winning film composer Russell Walker.

The film was made in collaboration with the Dahdeleh Institiute for Global Health Research and the students of three universities: York, Wilfrid Laurier, and the University of Colorado (Boulder). Mark Terry, Filmmaker and Research Fellow here at the Dahdaleh Institute, completes his trilogy of documentary films revealing the impacts of climate change on the Arctic and Antarctica. His previous two films were The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning (2009) and The Polar Explorer (2011), both having aired on CBC in Canada and released in the US by PBS, and screened at United Nations’ climate summits.

The Changing Face of Iceland is expected to be released in the Spring of 2021.
