Tyler Antonio Lynch is a political scientist and researcher educated at the University of Cambridge and UBC. His research explores the political-economy of land, labour, and law in the Global South. His work at the Dahdaleh Institute under Dr. Tarra Penney focuses on global food systems.

Lynch's work in humanitarian relief has been centred on refugees and migration. He has worked directly with humanitarian organisations in France and Türkiye, and has five years' experience with human rights advocacy groups in Canada and the UK. His writing continues to be published in academic and journalistic outlets.

A citizen of Canada and Ireland, Lynch has lived for fifteen years throughout China and Taiwan. He speaks French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Chinese to varying degrees of proficiency.

Kritnaaz is a second-year Biomedical Sciences student at ¿ì²¥ÊÓÆµ with a keen interest in the intersections of health, science, and policy. She has previous research experience with the Inzymes group, where she examined the impact of anaerobic digestive sludge on microplastics under various pre-treatment conditions. Through this work, she developed a strong foundation in laboratory methods and environmental health research.

At the Global Strategy Lab in the Dahdaleh Institute, Kritnaaz is eager to broaden her skills by contributing to interdisciplinary projects that connect scientific evidence to real-world policy solutions. She is passionate about advancing global health equity, sustainability, and innovation, and aspires to build a career that drives meaningful change through research and policy.

Hanna Hemmati Roozbehani is a current Global Health student with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from ¿ì²¥ÊÓÆµ. As an aspiring researcher, she is passionate about understanding the challenges of delivering healthcare amidst humanitarian emergencies, the changing landscape in emergency healthcare delivery and the path to the decolonization of humanitarian efforts.

Currently, she is a Global Health intern under the mentorship of Dr. Godfred Boateng. Her research focuses on the effect of humanitarian crises on energy and housing insecurities. Her long-term goal is to work with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), advancing evidence-based approaches to emergency healthcare while focusing on community empowerment.

Ailiya Rizwan is an Honors Biomedical Science student with a minor in Global Health. She volunteers at Hospice Vaughan, providing comfort to end-of-life patients and their bereaved families. As the two-time elected President of Women in White Coats at YorkU, she addresses the underrepresentation of women in STEM by offering mentorship, learning opportunities, and a website with free academic, mental health, & professional resources. She co-organized YorkU’s first, no-fee Wrapping & Taping workshop series and a cross-faculty Med-Tech Case Competition focused on creating a diabetes diagnostic algorithm, attracting over 100 participants and professionals. She is an aspiring physician & a passionate social advocate who strives for health equity through an interdisciplinary lens of social determinants.

Currently, Ailiya is a Global Health intern under the mentorship of Dr. Godfred Boateng in the Global and Environmental Health Lab, where she is conducting qualitative data analysis to understand how energy insecurity manifests at the household level in low- and middle-income countries, with specific focus on the effect on women, infants and children.

Sarah Merghani is currently pursuing an Honours BSc in Global Health at ¿ì²¥ÊÓÆµ, specializing in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, along with a general certificate in Refugee and Migration Studies.

She serves as both Lab Coordinator and Research Assistant at the Wellness Impact Lab, under the mentorship of Dr. Harvey Skinner and Susan Harris. Her work includes facilitating Climate Cafés, assisting with program evaluations and manuscript preparation, and supporting knowledge synthesis. She also develops outreach materials and manages digital communications through content creation and social media. Currently, she is contributing to a scoping review on arts-based interventions for climate emotions.

Sarah is also a Research Assistant at the Global & Environmental Health Lab, mentored by Dr. Godfred Boateng. Her current research explores the health impacts of rising temperatures on older adults in Canada, with a focus on climate change, aging, and health equity.

With a long-term goal of supporting vulnerable populations through medicine and public health, Sarah is passionate about translating research into practical action and is deeply committed to advancing health equity, humanitarianism, and community-based approaches in global health.
