Note: applicants must be eligible to participate in the Research @ York (RAY) program, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sfs.yorku.ca\/work-study-programs\/how-to-apply-for-ray-positions\">eligibility criteria<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hourly wage:<\/strong> $20 per hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hours per week:<\/strong> 11 hours per week<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> May 1, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>End date:<\/strong> August 30, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job description<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the supervision of Dr. Mathieu Poirier, the Global Legal Epidemiology Research Assistant (for up to 11 hours per week) will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Support ongoing work on a global legal epidemiology study evaluating the gendered effects of global tobacco control interventions.<\/li><li>Support a global legal epidemiology study examining tobacco control measures\u2019 impacts in Europe over the last 45 years.<\/li><li>Support grant applications, administrative duties, and knowledge translation activities related to global legal epidemiology.<\/li><li>Attend and actively participate in Global Strategy Lab meetings and seminars.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Global legal epidemiology is the scientific study and deployment of international laws, policies, and norms as factors in the cause, distribution, and prevention of disease and injury in a population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Searching for academic literature, and extracting and synthesizing information to support manuscript development<\/li><li>Updating structured and annotated bibliographic reviews of existing literature<\/li><li>Supporting statistical analyses using quasi-experimental designs (i.e., time series analyses)<\/li><li>Managing sources using Zotero reference management software<\/li><li>Supporting the presentation of findings to internal and external audiences<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Global Strategy Lab is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates people in all their diversity and encourages a variety of perspectives.
