Note: applicants must be eligible to participate in the Research @ York (RAY) program, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sfs.yorku.ca\/work-study-programs\/how-to-apply-for-ray-positions\">eligibility criteria<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hourly wage:<\/strong> $19 per hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hours per week:<\/strong> 11 hours per week<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> April 29, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>End date:<\/strong> August 30, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job description<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the supervision of Dr. Godfred Boateng (Canada Research Chair Tier 2), the Global Health Priorities Research Assistant (for up to 11 hours per week) will support the following research initiatives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Development of literature review<\/li><li>Data management<\/li><li>Manuscript development<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gathering data from international government agencies and research organizations; <\/li><li>Compiling and cleaning quantitative and qualitative data in Excel, Word, and other software;<\/li><li>Creating and maintaining a structured and annotated bibliographic review of existing literature organizing resources, projects, and individuals;<\/li><li>Managing sources using reference management software.<\/li><li>Participate in literature reviews and participate in the writing and editing of manuscripts summarizing research.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Current undergraduate York student. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged. The Dahdaleh Institute welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, including, but not limited to women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities (racialized), Indigenous Peoples and persons of any gender identity and sexual orientation. ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ is committed to a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment.<\/li><li>Demonstrated interest in global health.<\/li><li>Demonstrated skills, experience, and familiarity with conducting literature reviews.<\/li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of research methods (quantitative and\/or qualitative and\/or integrative).<\/li><li>Demonstrated excellent analytic skills for understanding, sorting, and categorizing complex information. Skills and resourcefulness in drawing mind-maps and tabulating information is an asset.<\/li><li>Demonstrated note-taking, journal-keeping, and filing skills.<\/li><li>Demonstrated excellent communication skills: professional written and interactive correspondence, public speaking and presentation.<\/li><li>Demonstrated excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database, spreadsheets, forms, and slides; facility with Office 365 Apps). WordPress editing skills are an asset. Social media communication skills are an asset.<\/li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including international and cross-cultural communication.
