Note: applicants must be eligible to participate in the Research @ York (RAY) program, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sfs.yorku.ca\/work-study-programs\/how-to-apply-for-ray-positions\">eligibility criteria<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hourly wage:<\/strong> $19 per hour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hours per week:<\/strong> 5 hours per week<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start date:<\/strong> September 3, 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>End date:<\/strong> April 25, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job description<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the supervision of Prof. Godfred Boateng (Canada Research Chair Tier 2), the Global Health Priorities Research Assistant (for up to 5 hours per week) will support the following research initiatives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Development of literature review<\/li><li><span style=\"color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, &quot;Helvetica Neue&quot;, sans-serif;\">Data management<\/span><\/li><li>Manuscript development<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:18px\">Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Gathering data from international government agencies and research organizations;<\/li><li>Compiling and cleaning qualitative data in Excel, Word, and other software;<\/li><li>Creating and maintaining a structured and annotated bibliographic review of existing literature organizing resources, projects, and individuals;<\/li><li>Managing sources using reference management software.<\/li><li>Participate in literature reviews and participate in the writing and editing of manuscripts summarizing research.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Type of research experience the student(s) will receive:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Critical thinking<\/li><li>Conducting literature review; Creating annotated bibliography; Tabulating data;<\/li><li>Preparing presentations and written outputs of research; Editing and formatting drafts; Correspondence with partners and workshop invitees;<\/li><li>Professional communication, including international and cross-cultural professional interaction and communication<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Type of training and support that will be provided to the student(s) in carrying out these research activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Methodological training on data analysis<\/li><li>Subject matter training on global health<\/li><li>Regular status meeting with your supervising full-time faculty<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Current undergraduate York student. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged. Skills and resourcefulness is drawing mind-maps and tabulating information is an asset. <\/li><li>Demonstrated note-taking, journal-keeping, and filing skills.<\/li><li>Demonstrated excellent communication skills: professional written and interactive correspondence, public speaking and presentation.<\/li><li>Demonstrated excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database, spreadsheets, forms, and slides; faculty with Office 365 Apps). WordPress editing skills are an asset. Social media communication skills are an asset. <\/li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, including international and cross-cultural communication.
