Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/careers.yorku.ca\/online-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">careers.yorku.ca\/online-system\/<\/a> and search for the posting with the Job ID (listed above).<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Hourly Wage:<\/strong> $16.25 per hour<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekly Hours:<\/strong> 6.5 hours per week<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start Date:<\/strong> September 13, 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>End Date:<\/strong> April 29, 2022<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>Job Description<\/h3>\n<p>Under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/dighr\/person\/james-stinson\/\">Dr. James Stinson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/dighr\/person\/mary-wiktorowicz\/\">Dr. Mary Wiktorowicz<\/a>, the Decolonizing Planetary Health RAY student will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development of a decolonized planetary Health research agenda<\/li>\n<li>Support Dr. Stinson\u2019s SSHRC funded research project \u201cPlanetary Health Partnership: Anishinaabe youth guardians, land-based learning, and the practice of living well with the world.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Attend and actively participate in a weekly transdisciplinary seminar series on planetary health and environmental research<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a structured and annotated bibliographic review of existing literature;<\/li>\n<li>Create a digital research archive of PDFs of identified papers;<\/li>\n<li>Create a series of draft PowerPoint presentations that capture the core conceptual content.<\/li>\n<li>Mobilze research results for public audiences via social media<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Type of research experience the student(s) will receive:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical thinking<\/li>\n<li>Conducting literature review; Creating annotated bibliography; Tabulating data;<\/li>\n<li>Preparing presentations and written outputs of research; Editing and formatting drafts; Correspondence with partners and workshop invitees;<\/li>\n<li>Professional communication, including international and cross-cultural professional interaction and communication<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge mobilization for public audiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Type of training and support that will be provided to the student(s) in carrying out these research activities:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>&nbsp;Methodological training on data analysis<\/li>\n<li>Subject matter training on Indigenous Peoples, environmentalism, and Global Health.<\/li>\n<li>Training in the use of reference management software<\/li>\n<li>Day-to-day supervision by DIGHR Postdoctoral Fellow<\/li>\n<li>Regular status meetings with your supervising Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. James Stinson<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: inherit; font-size: 1.56em; font-weight: 600;\">Qualifications<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current undergraduate York student (we encourage applicants from diverse programs of study and Indigenous applicants are especially encouraged)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated interest in Indigenous Peoples, Environmentalism, and\/or Global Health<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skills, experience, and familiarity with conducting literature reviews<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds\/cultures<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills: professional email\/phone correspondence, public speaking, and presentation proficiency<\/li>\n<li>Excellent computer skills (word processing, email, database management, spreadsheets)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates an eagerness to learn and take on initiative<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrates organizational and time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team with researchers, students, and staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>List of applications materials:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Cover Letter<\/li>\n<li>Resume<\/li>\n<li>Writing Sample<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job ID: 31380 Application Deadline: Friday, September 3, 2021 @11:59pm Eligibility Criteria: sfs.yorku.ca\/work-study-programs\/how-to-apply-for-ray-positions Applications are only accepted through the Career Centre.
