Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/careers.yorku.ca\/online-system\/\">Career Centre portal<\/a> and search for the posting with the Job ID (listed above).<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Hourly Wage:<\/strong> $20 per hour<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekly Hours:<\/strong> 12 hours per week<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start Date:<\/strong> May 9, 2022<\/p>\n<p><strong>End Date:<\/strong> September 2, 2022<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h3>Job Description<\/h3>\n<p>Under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalstrategylab.org\/team\/mathieu-poirier\">Mathieu Poirier<\/a>, the Global Health Equity RAY student (for up to 12 hours per week) will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support an update to and submission of a draft manuscript titled \u201cMeasuring Health Inequalities in Low- and Middle-Income Countries Using Household Income, Consumption, or Assets: Does it Make a Difference?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Support the planning and development of a follow up study on the impacts of intrahousehold division of wealth and assets on the predictive power of household wealth indices<\/li>\n<li>Support the planning and development of a study evaluating global inequities in COVID-19 vaccine distribution<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to grant applications, administrative duties, and communications activities related to global health equity metrics<\/li>\n<li>Attend and actively participate in occasional Global Strategy Lab meetings and seminars<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Collecting, cleaning, and supporting the analysis of data used to measure household socioeconomic status<\/li>\n<li>Searching for academic literature, and extracting and synthesizing information to support manuscript development<\/li>\n<li>Updating structured and annotated bibliographic reviews of existing literature<\/li>\n<li>Managing sources using Zotero reference management software<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the presentation of findings to internal and external audiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Type of research experience the student(s) will receive:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Critical thinking<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative analysis skills<\/li>\n<li>Conducting literature review<\/li>\n<li>Improving writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Reference management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Type of training and support that will be provided to the student(s) in carrying out these research activities:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Methodological training on data collection and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Subject matter training on on health equity metrics and household socioeconomic status indicators<\/li>\n<li>Regular status meetings with your supervising faculty and staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Global Strategy Lab is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates people in all their diversity and encourages a variety of perspectives.
