Viens and Megan George, the research assistant (6 hours per week) will support the social media marketing, videography, photography, design and implementation of experiential learning in global health through the World Health Assembly Simulations 2024. The development of simulation-based learning is a form of experiential learning that provides learners the opportunity to apply their knowledge, understanding, and skills in a realistic and hands-on real-world environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific research activities the student(s) will be engaged in:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness and drive engagement across various platforms (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)<\/li><li>Create high-quality and visually appealing video and photo content for social media, the WHA SIM website, and other marketing channels<\/li><li>Monitor and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for improvement<\/li><li>Support the design and implementation of global health simulations<\/li><li>Support simulation learning objectives\/outcomes<\/li><li>Support the development of a simulation-based experiential learning faculty toolkit<\/li><li>Support the development of a simulation facilitator training manual<\/li><li>Participation in regular project team meetings<\/li><li>Providing administrative support as required<\/li><li>Creating and managing database of relevant research and educational materials<\/li><li>Draft summary documents outlining key research findings and project design elements<\/li><li>Conducting research materials search, compilation, and synthesis<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Type of research experience the student(s) will receive:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Understanding how to develop and implement social media strategies<\/li><li>An opportunity to work on real projects to develop a portfolio showcasing your creativity and technical abilities<\/li><li>Campaign planning and execution<\/li><li>Learning how to be a good team member<\/li><li>Engaging in networking opportunities with other students and faculty members<\/li><li>Critical thinking and problem solving<\/li><li>Hands-on experience with project development and management<\/li><li>Honing of research-based communication and organization skills<\/li><li>Understanding of the research process, especially translating research into improving practice<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Type of training and support that will be provided to the student(s) in carrying out these research activities:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Access resources and materials to enhance your skills in using industry-standard software.<\/li><li>Subject matter training on global health, including experiential education<\/li><li>Regular meetings with supervising faculty members<\/li><li>Experience contributing to collaborative research projects and project management<\/li><li>Methodological training around searching, compiling, and synthesizing research materials<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Current undergraduate York student. Applicants from diverse programs of study are encouraged.
