{"id":3342,"date":"2021-04-21T15:14:22","date_gmt":"2021-04-21T19:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/dighr\/?post_type=project&#038;p=3342"},"modified":"2024-09-18T21:40:08","modified_gmt":"2024-09-19T01:40:08","slug":"one-health-network-for-global-governance-of-infectious-diseases-and-amr","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/dighr\/project\/one-health-network-for-global-governance-of-infectious-diseases-and-amr\/","title":{"rendered":"One Health Network for Global Governance of Infectious Diseases and AMR"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The network strengthens Canadian leadership in improving the global governance of Infectious Disease and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by building and sustaining a global transdisciplinary and inter-sectoral One Health network originating in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of Global 1HN are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and sustain a Network of local, national and international state and non-state actors to facilitate collaborative interactions among civil society, academics, industry, and policy communities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthen capacity for inter- and transdisciplinary research on, and the practice of, global governance of IDs and AMR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate evidence-informed actions through: synergistic engagement of social and health sciences approaches to OH global governance; identifying and addressing existing barriers to, and enhancing existing and potential enablers of OH governance; and developing a OH evaluation framework<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate the implementation of a transdisciplinary OH approach to global governance of IDs and AMR through an integrated knowledge translation strategy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Global-1HN coordinates social science researchers and knowledge users with researchers in the human, animal and environmental health sciences to develop a transdisciplinary approach to ID and AMR governance at global, national, and local levels. It complements and coordinates with its European counterpart (SoNAR-Global), and other leading global OH research initiatives to maximise synergy. Four research enabling platforms (REPs) address ID and AMR: i) surveillance, ii) evaluation, iii) institutional governance and iv) equity, contributing to improved design, effectiveness, and governance of integrated OH systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Team<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Lead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ronald Labont\u00e9<\/strong>, Distinguished Research Chair.
