Webpage Language
First Nations peoples have lived on this part of Turtle Island for millennia, stewarding the land, the water and all that contributes to life in this region. Today, the culture and presence of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples enrich the lands and people of this territory where ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ is located. Visit the official webpage to learn more about the cross campus Land Acknowledgment statements.
For those who currently have land acknowledgment text or related contextual content on your webpages, the preferred approach is to redirect to the new land acknowledgment webpage instead. This new webpage – which was created by Indigenous Initiatives unit in the Division of Equity, People & Culture – is the central location for resources and information including:
- All York’s official land acknowledgments with French versions for each one
- Pronunciations
- FAQs
Redirecting will help ensure every webpage reflects the most accurate and up-to-date information aligned with our commitments and brand guidelines. Your partnership is essential to ensuring a smooth implementation and demonstrating our shared commitment consistently across the University.
Thank you in advance for your support.
