The Faculty of Education, Office of Student Services staff are available for walk inquiries on campus and online advising support . We are in 128 Winters College, Office hours are Monday - Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm

Transitional Certificate - Year 2 Bachelor of Education Students
Information was shared with Year 2 BEd students through their Practicum Facilitators and available on EDPR 3000 eClass
Requirements for eligibility for BEd students at 快播视频:
- Undergraduate degree requirements completed and conferred*.
- Students must complete the鈥 r
equest form for the Faculty of Education by the deadline of December 1, 2024. Students who miss the deadline will not have their applications processed. - Students must be in good standing and in their鈥fourth semester鈥(January 2025) of the BEd program.
- Students must have completed more than 40 days of their practicum.
- Students must have successfully completed a minimum of 30 post-secondary credits.
The earliest the Transitional Certificate report will be sent to OCT is early-mid January 2025.
*Concurrent BEd students鈥痬ust already have鈥痗ompleted an undergraduate degree. Concurrent students without a completed undergraduate degree can鈥.
- Concurrent BEd students will only see their Bachelor of Education record when applying to graduate online.鈥
- Concurrent students who have not yet applied to graduate from their undergraduate degree at York must complete the PDF form "鈥 and email it to degaud@yorku.ca鈥痓测 November 15, 2024.
- Concurrent students who have already applied for a degree audit will receive notification via email from the Registrar鈥檚 Office to indicate that the process is complete.
- Concurrent students can also visit鈥痶o check their status. It will take some time for your request to be processed.
Sending Transcripts to OCT:
Students who are applying for the Transitional Certificate must order an official transcript for submission to the OCT after ALL fall courses have grades posted.
- Consecutive BEd students: Order your undergraduate program transcript and 快播视频 transcript for submission to the OCT.
- Concurrent BEd students: Once the degree audit process is completed, you will receive an email confirming availability of your undergraduate degree transcript.
- You MUST await the confirmation email to access your 快播视频 transcript which will display both undergraduate and BEd programs.
- Order your 快播视频 transcript for submission to the OCT. If you have other degrees, also order/submit these transcripts.
Students who do鈥痭ot鈥痳eceive a鈥疶ransitional Certificate鈥痗an wait until the completion of their Bachelor of Education program, when they will be able to apply for the鈥疌ertificate of Qualification and Registration, which is not transitional.
Bachelor of Education students should be aware of the following:
- The OCT has indicated that 鈥.鈥&苍产蝉辫;
- BEd students are responsible for completing their own paperwork and ensuring that their memberships are in good standing with the OCT. This includes ordering both undergraduate and Bachelor of Education transcript(s).
- Application alone does not guarantee that the Faculty of Education will recommend a student for the鈥疶ransitional Certificate.
- When a student obtains a鈥疶ransitional Certificate, they are subject to all OCT鈥.

Winter Session: Year 2 BEd P/J and JI students (ED/EDPJ/JI 3100 and 3000)
Primary/Junior and Junior/Intermediate students will see on the BEd Program Calendar /edu/students/undergraduate-programs/bed-program-calendars/ ED/EDPJ 3000/ 3100 for Primary/Junior and ED/EDJI 3000 /3100 for Junior/Intermediate students. These courses are six weeks and posted as WA = starts January first six weeks in winter and WB = starts mid-February last six weeks These courses won鈥檛 plot to the Undergraduate Students Timetable schedule Monday to Friday because the session codes are not familiar to YU system. But you can see the time, day and session code WA and WB in writing under Important Notes in Search Course Timetables

Religious Education: Teaching in Catholic Schools - Who Should Attend
Any undergrad BEd student in the final year (yr 2) of BEd and interested in preparing to teach in Catholic schools. NOTE: This course is open only to 快播视频 Faculty of Education undergraduate students. This course is not equivalent to the Religious Education, Part 1 additional qualification. Students who are in the CEC BEd (Catholic Education Centre) cohort will have completed EDUC 3000 "Teaching in the Catholic Schools" in their first of the BEd. Therefore, do not need register.

Awards for Undergraduate Students
In the September newsletter we shared information regarding applying for Faculty of Education Awards and Bursaries.听 We are continuing to work with the new award solution that the university launched recently. 聽There has been a delay to the awards posted being posted on FAAS and plans are now to open the awards on November 15 (UPDATE: November 15th date - now delayed and we will email students when the awards are posted on FAAS) and deadline to apply December 15, 2024 (will work on a changing the deadline date).听
Please note there are many other awards/bursaries offered by 快播视频 Financial Services and these could be posted now in FAAS. It's just the Faculty of Education awards needing a bit more time to post.

Students come to SCD because of a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, abuse, stress, self-esteem, relationship issues, eating and body image as well as issues related to sexuality, short-term individual, couple, and group counselling, crisis intervention and consultations regarding students in distress/crisis and issues related to overall mental health.
