Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, be&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/gradstudies\/students\/awards-and-scholarships\/york-internal-awards\/residency-requirement-internal-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ontario residents<\/a>*, and demonstrate financial need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Value and Duration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Up to 6 awards of up to $12,500\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The value and number of award(s) in any given year will depend on the rate of distribution from the endowment fund and the number of recipients selected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-renewable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alert alert-warning\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;This award is comprised of matching funds. If you are expecting to receive the York Graduate Fellowship, this award will impact your Fellowship amount. Please visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/gradstudies\/students\/awards-and-scholarships\/matching-funds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Matching Funds<\/a>&nbsp;to learn more.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full-time registered current Master's or doctoral York graduate student;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Canadian citizens, permanent residents and\/or protected persons who are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/gradstudies\/students\/awards-and-scholarships\/york-internal-awards\/residency-requirement-internal-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">residents of Ontario<\/a>*;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selection criteria includes:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Research in sustainability and the environment; air quality; conservation; renewable resources; environmental engineering; climate change; and\/or, design of safe infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic accomplishments (minimum \u201cB\u201d average), and,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial need<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: The student must be registered full-time for the upcoming academic year (Fall\/Winter).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deadlines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Student deadline:\u00a0<strong>March 31, 2026 at 11:59 pm<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduate program deadline (if applicable):&nbsp;<strong>Feb 28<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Award Period (when the award will be paid)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upcoming academic year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students must update their profile and apply through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/students.yorku.ca\/sfs\/awards-and-scholarships\">Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships&nbsp;(FAAS)<\/a>&nbsp;system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must submit a personal statement and a copy of their research proposal explicitly indicating how their research aligns with the award. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up-to-date copy of transcript\/grade report to demonstrate GPA (an unofficial transcript or grade report from student records are acceptable).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you require further assistance, please contact our Scholarship &amp;
