Nominees should be outstanding role models, who are not only successful in their own research, but have also shown a strong desire and enthusiasm for mentoring their peers. The recipient must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person, and an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/gradstudies\/students\/awards-and-scholarships\/york-internal-awards\/residency-requirement-internal-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ontario resident<\/a>*, who demonstrates financial need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Value and Duration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Four awards up to $12,500\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The value and number of award(s) in any given year will depend on the rate of distribution from the endowment fund and the number of recipients selected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-renewable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alert alert-warning\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>&nbsp;This award is comprised of matching funds. If you are expecting to receive the York Graduate Fellowship, this award will impact your Fellowship amount. Please visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/gradstudies\/students\/awards-and-scholarships\/matching-funds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Matching Funds<\/a>&nbsp;to learn more.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full-time Doctoral York graduate student;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incoming and current students;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Canadian citizens, permanent residents and\/or protected persons who are residents of Ontario;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selection criteria includes:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Research in atmospheric, earth or space science\/engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic accomplishments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated desire and enthusiasm for mentoring peers, and,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial need<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: The student must be registered full-time for the upcoming academic year (Fall\/Winter).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deadlines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Graduate program deadline:<\/strong>&nbsp;program nomination, with complete documentation, is due to the Scholarship and Awards Coordinator in FGS by&nbsp;<strong>April 27<\/strong>. The Faculty of Graduate Studies Awards Committee will review nominees for eligibility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Award Period (when the award will be paid)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upcoming academic year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incoming students must be nominated by their graduate program.
