{"id":2,"date":"2020-06-24T15:04:51","date_gmt":"2020-06-24T19:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/labour\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2024-03-19T11:04:19","modified_gmt":"2024-03-19T15:04:19","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/labour\/","title":{"rendered":"Labour Relations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p>In 2019, the<strong> Office of Labour Relations <\/strong>was formed, by bringing together Faculty Relations and Employee Relations, as a part of the new Equity, People and Culture Division, to provide a more coordinated and consistent approach to labour relations at 快播视频.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Labour Relations provides University leadership, academic administrators, managers and supervisors with advice and counsel to help build positive labour and employee relations and to make informed decisions regarding collective agreements, labour policies and employment legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office is also the primary liaison between the University and the 14 bargaining units representing university employees and works closely with union representatives to collaborate and resolve disputes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key departmental activities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Collective agreement negotiations and administration.<\/li><li>Guidance on the interpretation and administration of collective agreements, university policies and employment legislation.<\/li><li>Liaising with and participating in joint committees with bargaining unit representatives.<\/li><li>Providing information and training to academic administrators, managers and supervisors on topics related to labour relations and collective agreement administration.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Labour Relations Office partners with colleagues across the Division of Equity, People and Culture, the Provost\u2019s Office, the Office of Legal Counsel and the Office of Institutional Planning and Analysis, providing high-quality service and expertise to meet the unique needs of our academic and administrative communities, building strong collaborative relationships with our union partners, consistent with the importance of equity, diversity and inclusivity to the York community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 2019, the Office of Labour Relations was formed, by bringing together Faculty Relations and Employee Relations, as a part of the new Equity, People and Culture Division, to provide a more coordinated and consistent approach to labour relations at 快播视频.
