I had a wonderful experience at York in the Communication Studies program, both for my undergrad and master's. Fantastic profs like Natalie Coulter and interesting courses research methods (yes, it was great I recommend it!) made for an education I enjoyed so much I decided to continue on and get my master's in the Communication & Culture program at York that's joint with Ryerson. I also volunteered and worked at Excalibur, where I made life-long friends and gained real-world experience.

In the master's program, I had two great work placements, one at the Art Gallery of Ontario and one at the Toronto Arts Council, which really added to the experience. Courses at Ryerson added a more hands-on element that balanced the theory at York, plus access to the Schulich MBA Arts Administration program courses was great too.

Since leaving York, I completed an internship at TIFF and worked my way up at a content marketing agency, where I am now Director of Editorial & Content. I apply many of the critical thinking, writing and communication skills I learned to my job, where I create articles, blogs, white papers, social media posts and more for a variety of brands. I landed my current job through a connection I made in the undergrad program.
