Creative Writing
One of the best things about the Creative Writing program is the hands-on experience. The professors are all eager to help you move forward in your writing career, and they push you to become a better writer every class.
My advice for new students is to just write and don't forget to have fun. Obviously, if you're majoring in Creative Writing then the assumption is that you love to write so don't think of every course as just another 'class,' think of it as a way to improve, to refine, and to polish your writing skills. Just have fun experimenting with the different genres and writing beyond your comfort zones. Don't be afraid to venture out into the dark - sometimes the best writing comes after letting go of everything you've ever written before and just creating something new and unexpected.
