It considers historical and contemporary arguments to develop an understanding of how social, political, and economic realities shape gender and sexuality at multiple intersections. It introduces diverse theoretical approaches within feminist and queer scholarship to outline broad terms of debate. Course credit exclusions: AP\/GWST 1501 9.00 or GL\/GWST 1501 9.00 or AP\/GWST 1502 6.00 or GL\/GWST 1502 6.00 or AP\/SXST 1600 9.0 or GL\/SXST 1600 9.00 or AP\/SXST1601 6.00 or GL\/SXST1601 6.00 or AP\/GWST 2500 6.00 or GL\/SOSC 2950 6.00. PRIOR TO WINTER 2015: AP\/GWST 2500 6.00, GL\/GWST 2500 6.00 (FR). PRIOR TO FALL 2014: Course credit exclusions: AP\/GWST 2510 9.00, GL\/GWST 2510 9.00, GL\/GWST 2500 6.00 (EN).
