Account Reactivation

If you have taken time away from your studies for personal, financial, or other reasons and now plan to return to York to finish your degree, the following steps will guide you through the application process.

Step 1: Confirm you are eligible to reactivate (University requirements)

  • Before you submit an account reactivation request, please review 快播视频鈥檚 page to confirm that reactivation through is the correct pathway for you, and to review the current deadlines and requirements.

Step 2: Request School of Information Technology review

  • If you are eligible to reactivate through MyProgram, the School of Information Technology will review your request according to the requirements below.

Eligibility Requirements for ITEC Program


To be eligible for an account reactivation, you must meet the following criteria:

Minimum Academic Standing
Unless there are extenuating circumstances, students are expected to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.0 at the time of withdrawal.

Readiness to Return Statement (required)
A written statement is required to explain:

  • your reasons for withdrawal,
  • activities undertaken during your time away,
  • any changes or improvements that support your readiness to return, and
  • your plan to ensure academic success upon re-entry.

Additional Documentation (optional, if applicable)
You may include any documentation you believe would support your Readiness to Return Statement.

Evaluation & Decision Processes

Holistic Evaluation
Each reactivation application is reviewed individually, considering the student鈥檚 cumulative GPA, activities during the withdrawal period, and demonstrated readiness to return.

Case-by-Case Decision
The program will make case-by-case decisions based the student鈥檚 overall profile and supporting documentation. Please note that approvals are not guaranteed and may be affected by program capacity and University/program restrictions.

Email your 鈥淩eadiness to Return Statement (and any supporting documents) to lapsitec@yorku.ca

  • Suggested email subject line: 鈥淚TEC Account Reactivation: Readiness to Return Statement鈥
  • To help process your request efficiently, please include your full name and student number in both your 鈥淩eadiness to Return Statement鈥 and the email body.
