The Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies is proud to recognize two distinguished community members who will receive York honorary degrees during the 2026 Spring Convocation ceremonies. The recipients are being honoured for their contributions to community building, their advocacy for social justice and their philanthropy.
This year鈥檚 honorary degree recipients are Howard Sokolowski, founder and principal of Metropia, a company focused on large-scale, master-planned residential communities, and Ray Gupta, chair and CEO of Sunray Group, one of the largest privately owned hotel operators in Canada.
