We encourage a broad range of perspectives and topics can be from within the various categories of intellectual property law including patents, trademarks, industrial design and copyright.<\/p>\n<p>There are three categories for entrants this year:<\/p>\n<p>Law student category (LL.B, J.D., BCL, and LL.L students)<br \/>\nGraduate student category (LL.M, S.J.D.&nbsp;and PhD students)<br \/>\nProfessional category (legal and business professionals who have been practicing 7 years or less, including patent agents and trademark agents)<br \/>\nThe winner from each of category will be eligible for:<\/p>\n<p>A prize of $1,000 (CAD)<br \/>\nPublication on the IP Osgoode website (iposgoode.ca)<br \/>\nConsideration for publication in the&nbsp;Canadian Intellectual Property Review&nbsp;and\/or the&nbsp;Intellectual Property Journal.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline is&nbsp;Canada Day, Monday, July 1, 2019, 5 PM EDT.<\/p>\n<p>More details on Canada\u2019s IP Writing Challenge are available&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iposgoode.ca\/other-activities\/ip-writing-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) and IP Osgoode are delighted to announce the 2019 edition of Canada's IP Writing Challenge.
