Permit Holders
Parking rates are being updated to address rising operational costs and to ensure the long鈥憈erm financial sustainability of Parking Services. Parking rates are approved by the board of governors annually and help fund ongoing maintenance, safety infrastructure and staffing needs.
The new rates will take effect May 1, 2026.
No action is required on your part if you have a continuous parking permit. The new rate will be reflected automatically on your May 2026 paycheque.
Please contact Parking Services to discuss available options. All parking lots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and any requests are subject to availability. Parking Services can be reached 55335 (416-736-2100 #7).
Evening Rate - Keele Garages
Evening garage rates are being updated to align with the standard pay per half hour pricing model used across all other parking locations on campus. This change simplifies the pay structure, eliminating the last remaining flat鈥憆ate category.
As of May 1, drivers pay based on how long they park, using a $2.50 per half hour rate/up to $20.00 max. This gives drivers more flexibility to pay only for the time they need and provides consistency accross all parking lots on campus
Electric Vehicle Charging Rates
EV charging rates are being updated to ensure York can continue to provide reliable, well鈥憁aintained charging stations. As EV usage on campus continues to grow, York is promoting fair access and turnover so that more drivers can use the service throughout the day.
Drivers will be charged $3 per hour for the first four hours and $15 per hour after four hours.
The higher rate after four hours helps promote turnover in high鈥慸emand charging spaces, ensuring more EV drivers can access charging throughout the day.
