It is a specific opportunity to learn about and engage with Indigenous knowledges, languages, practices, and ways of being and their importance to both York and Canadian society more broadly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>York has acted with intention in cultivating relationships and creating space and place for the Indigenous community. Working with the Indigenous Council and in response to recommendations made in the <a href=\"https:\/\/indigenous.yorku.ca\/framework\/\">Indigenous Framework<\/a> and Decolonizing Research Administration report, last year, we welcomed the first associate vice president, Indigenous initiatives to our leadership team. This year, we also established the Centre for Indigenous Knowledges and Languages (CIKL) and awarded the first Indigenous postdoctoral fellow&nbsp;with the inaugural Provost\u2019s Postdoctoral fellowships for Black and Indigenous Scholars. Additionally, the 快播视频 Indigenous Research Seed Fund, announced in May 22, awarded 10 scholars a total of $204,298<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>York looks forward to strengthening relationships with the local Indigenous communities that surround our campuses and we acknowledge that there is a long journey towards our goal of decolonization and reconciliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage you to seek knowledge about the ways in which Indigenous peoples have contributed to society and history through the resources that are available to you. Please also take the time to learn about the many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/about\/indigenous-history-month\/\">Indigenous initiatives<\/a> that are taking place at York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We remain grateful for all opportunities to foster dialogue, awareness, and action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you. De plus, le Fonds de stimulation de la recherche autochtone \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 York, annonc\u00e9 le 22&nbsp;mai, a accord\u00e9 un montant total de 204\u2009298&nbsp;$ \u00e0 10 chercheurs<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>York se r\u00e9jouit de renforcer ses relations avec les communaut\u00e9s autochtones locales situ\u00e9es tout autour de ses campus.
