{"id":4482,"date":"2020-09-01T17:45:39","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T21:45:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/procurementdevdev\/?page_id=4482"},"modified":"2022-04-28T15:08:09","modified_gmt":"2022-04-28T19:08:09","slug":"eligible-and-ineligible-goods-services","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/procurement\/information-for-researchers\/tri-agency-grant-applications-awards\/eligible-and-ineligible-goods-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Eligible and Ineligible Goods &#038; Services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For a detailed list of eligible and ineligible expenses refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca\/InterAgency-Interorganismes\/TAFA-AFTO\/guide-guide_eng.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tri-Agency Financial Administration Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligible Goods &amp; Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Grant funds must contribute toward the&nbsp;<strong>direct costs<\/strong>&nbsp;of the research program for which funds were awarded.&nbsp; Direct costs of goods and services are limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Maintenance and operating costs of equipment and research supplies, including extended warranties (not including furniture)<\/li><li>Electronics<ul><li>Computer, tablets, iPads, cameras, modems, drop box charges and other emerging technology and hardware and\/or specialized software required for research<\/li><li>Cellular phones, iphones, smartphones, or other electronic devices when they are necessary for research purposes, and\/or for personal safety reasons, with adequate justification of the research purpose<\/li><li>Monthly plan fees for a basic plan for electronic devices, cell phones, etc. when being used for the research purposes, and\/or for personal safety reasons only.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Services<ul><li>Brokerage and customs fees<\/li><li>Staff training<\/li><li>Consulting services<\/li><li>Developing and maintaining web-based information<\/li><li>Translation costs<\/li><li>Workshop or seminar<\/li><li>Safety and waste disposal<\/li><li>Specialized training<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ineligible Goods &amp; Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>York provides for&nbsp;<strong>indirect or overhead costs<\/strong>.&nbsp; Indirect costs of goods and services are limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>facilities<\/li><li>basic utilities (such as voice mail)<\/li><li>renovations<\/li><li>office equipment (connection of lines, monthly connection or rental of telephone)<\/li><li>administration fees<\/li><li>insurance for equipment and vehicles<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For a detailed list of eligible and ineligible expenses refer to the Tri-Agency Financial Administration Guide.
