One award will be given annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners will each receive  a small commemorative plaque, have their names engraved on the award display in Vari Hall, and be recognized on an annual plaque that will be showcased in the winner\u2019s home department for one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Team demonstrates commitment to the highest level of service excellence to students\/faculty\/staff and\/or other service users that exceeds what is normally expected in their position<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team promotes a work environment that is respectful, supportive, collegial and inclusive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team works collaboratively and respectfully with other teams\/unit by encouraging openness in sharing ideas, responsibility and finding appropriate solutions to challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team promotes the York spirit in terms of imagination, creativity, innovation and redefining the possible in service to York\u2019s community (internal and external)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Team members do not need to belong to one department as teams who are working on a limited-time project are also eligible for this award, provided that:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 75% of the team members are full-time, continuing staff member at York that have been continuously employed for at least 2 years as of December 31, 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team members are members of a non-academic staff group (CUPE 1356, CPM, YUSA or IOUE)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team has a minimum of 3 staff members and a maximum of fifteen (15) staff members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nomination File Requirements&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief Nominator is responsible for putting together a nomination file that consists of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three Letters (3) Maximum\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One (1) lead nomination letter from the chief nominator<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two (2) letters of support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team Background\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A list of the team members with a brief description of the role each person plays on the team <span style=\"color: initial;\">(download and use this&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/staffawards\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/373\/2024\/03\/Harriet-Lewis-Team-Award-for-Service-Excllence_Team-List-1-1.xlsx\">file<\/a><span style=\"color: initial;\">&nbsp;to track team members and<\/span><strong style=\"color: initial;\">&nbsp;upload it to the online form<\/strong><span style=\"color: initial;\"> when submitting your nomination package)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please feel free to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/staffawards\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/373\/2026\/01\/Harriet-Lewis-Team-Award-for-Service-Excellence-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">download this checklist<\/a>&nbsp;to help you compile the nomination file and ensure that you have met all of the requirements before completing the online nomination form. NOTE: This checklist does not need to be uploaded with the nomination form and is for your reference only<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nomination Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-af0d7629-fa8c-4586-a868-56d0c5966d49\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One of the letters must be from the nominee\u2019s current Manager<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The chief nominator and one supporting nominator, OR two (2) of the supporting nominators must have received support from the entire team, not individual team members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each letter is from an individual author (multiple authors on a letter are not permitted)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Self-nominations are not permitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Letter Formatting and Content Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-af0d7629-fa8c-4586-a868-56d0c5966d49\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each letter does not exceed a total of three (3) pages , and the total number of pages of ALL letters combined does not exceed nine (9) pages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific examples are used to describe how the nominated team:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contributes to the goals and objectives of their office, division and\/or the broader York Community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Has a significant impact on the operation of the University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meets or exceeds each of the award criteria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quotations from other persons are not permitted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No acronyms are used in the letter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not include any references or confidential documents such as employee performance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Excellence is everywhere at York.
