Do I need a Graduate Assistant or a Research Assistant?
This is dependent on the assignment, and the graduate student. A brief example is below of a PI looking to engage research support.
Research Assistant (graduate student)
Qualifications: This position requires an upper level graduate student in the English program, with an area of study focusing on 14th century literature specifically Chaucer鈥檚 works.
Research Progress: Student has an aligned area of research, and will make progress in their own research by virtue of working with the PI.
Graduate Assistant
Qualifications: This position requires an upper year doctoral student in a liberal arts program, including but not limited to English, Humanities or Communication & Culture.
Research Progress: The opportunity does not relate to the student鈥檚 area of research. The student will not make research progress by virtue of the opportunity.
