Dalal graduated with a perfect 100 per cent average in six of her Grade 12 courses in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Turner Fenton Secondary School in Brampton and was the top student among last year\u2019s graduating class in the Peel District School Board.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/photos\/20101008\/\/DimpleDalal.jpg\" alt=\"Dimple Dalal\" width=\"152\" height=\"268\" align=\"right\" hspace=\"8\" vspace=\"8\" \/><strong>Right: Schulich student Dimple Dalal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dalal is not the only high achiever beginning undergraduate business studies at Schulich this fall. The Class of 2014 includes 391 students \u2013 296 bachelor of business administration (BBA) students and 95 international BBA (iBBA) students \u2013 with an average GPA of 92.5 per cent and a minimum average of 90.5 per cent. This year, three Schulich students, including Dalal, received ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ President\u2019s Scholarships which are awarded annually to incoming secondary school graduates with the highest admission averages. Each four-year scholarship is worth $21,600.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve often commented on how outstanding our undergraduate students are,\u201d said Schulich Dean Dezs\u00f6 J. Horv\u00e1th. \u201cNot only are they among the best and brightest academically, but they come into our program with proven leadership and entrepreneurial abilities that give them the skill set needed to excel in business. I expect great things this year from all members of our incoming undergraduate class.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The second President\u2019s Scholarship winner, Erin Compeau, is another outstanding student who was drawn to Schulich. She tied for second overall in the Toronto Catholic District School Board with an overall average of 99.67 per cent.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/photos\/20101008\/\/ErinCompeau.jpg\" alt=\"Erin Compeau\" width=\"142\" height=\"181\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"8\" vspace=\"8\" \/><strong>Left: Erin Compeau<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI decided to come to Schulich because the students here are the best of the best,\u201d said Erin. \u201cThe School also has the best professors and is located in Toronto. Unlike other undergraduate business programs, [at Schulich] your business classes begin in Year 1.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first, I wasn\u2019t sure where I wanted to attend university,\u201d said Compeau. \u201cBut once I started exploring my options at Schulich, I realized business is very diverse field. Now I think I might pursue a career as a CA (chartered accountant).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The third recipient of York\u2019s President\u2019s Scholarship is Oron Eli. Oron attended Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto high school in Vaughan, where he graduated with an overall average of 97.83 per cent. He received an academic award for achieving a 90 per cent or higher average during all four years of high school.<\/p>\n<p>During his time at Tannenbaum, Oron participated in many different extracurricular activities. He enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball. He was also a lawyer on the 2010 Mock Trial championship-winning team for the York Region Judges Cup.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three winners of President's Scholarships
