Pension & Benefits is offering a three-part series on pensions – Pension Basics, The 快播视频 Pension Plan and 快播视频 Plan Funding. <\/p>\n

These sessions are being offered to provide more information about pension plans in general, the York plan in particular, and its current financial situation (given the recent financial downturn and an August 2010 announcement by the provincial government of a framework for Ontario’s universities).<\/p>\n

This framework will provide a temporary, conditional reprieve from making significant solvency deficit pension payments required under current legislation. <\/p>\n

Sessions are open to all employees and partners may attend as well. To sign up contact Teresa Hunter at ext. 20235 or thunter@yorku.ca<\/a>. You will then be given the room location. Snacks will be provided.<\/p>\n

Sessions will also be offered at Glendon in the near future.<\/p>\n

Session 1 – Pension Basics<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

A high-level review of what a pension plan is, terminology (such as DB, DC, YMPE, FAE) and legislative requirements. This session is designed for those who have limited knowledge about pension plans and want to build a foundation of basic understanding to be brought into the next session. <\/p>\n
