If so, why not join university students, pre-service teachers, teachers, principals and other educators who are interested in learning more about teaching abroad by enrolling in the Preparing to Teach Internationally Program.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yfile.news.yorku.ca\/files\/2012\/02\/teaching-cor-story-image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-21844 size-full\" style=\"margin: 8px;\" src=\"https:\/\/yfile.news.yorku.ca\/files\/2012\/02\/teaching-cor-story-image.jpg\" alt=\"photo of a teacher teaching a class abroad\" width=\"350\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>Offered over five days this spring, Preparing to Teach Internationally is\u00a0a\u00a0professional development\u00a0initiative offered by\u00a0the International Education\u00a0Office in\u00a0York's Faculty of Education.<\/p>\n<p>Designed to\u00a0help participants gain insight into education, as well as a better understanding of themselves as educators, the program provides the skills participants need to\u00a0make informed decisions about what to expect when embarking on an international education role. At the end of the program, successful candidates will receive a professional development certificate from the Faculty of Education.<\/p>\n<p>Preparing to\u00a0Teach\u00a0Internationally\u00a0is open to all university students from York and beyond, along with\u00a0educators\u00a0who are considering teaching in an international setting, including\u00a0teaching English as a second language. Some of the topics explored in the program\u00a0are:\u00a0international education systems and schools; issues and politics; skills and strategies required to teach in an international setting; and how to plan and prepare for the role.<\/p>\n<p>Registrations are now being accepted for the spring session, offered April 28, May 5, 12, 26 and June 2, in five-hour classes on York\u2019s Keele campus. The deadline for registration is <strong>March 31<\/strong>. Registrations can be submitted online by way of the <a href=\"http:\/\/edu.yorku.ca\/intl\/preparing.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Preparing to Teach Internationally Program<\/a>
