\"\"This month, the Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion (REI) at ¿ì²¥ÊÓƵ<\/a> launches its Respect, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) workshop series for the Winter 2019 term.<\/p>\n

The REDI Series moves beyond a curriculum exclusively dedicated towards human rights and help participants embrace equity and inclusion. The workshop series is open to all University community members (including full- and part-time employees, faculty and students). Interested participants can register and participate in sessions at any time of the year. Participants who attend at least three sessions receive a certificate of completion in human rights.<\/p>\n

This semester, REI is offering \u201cHuman Rights in a Digital Age: The polarization of #Everything\u201d as part of its REDI program. Each workshop in the series explores how contemporary human rights issues affect our daily interactions. Participants develop knowledge, skills and awareness to help create and uphold equitable and inclusive spaces. The full list of sessions is available on the REI website.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticipating in the REDI program at Glendon was both insightful and liberating,\u201d said Teshini Harrison of the Glendon School of Public and International Affairs, Glendon College. \u201cThe centre\u2019s team was amazing throughout the entire experience. As a former employee, the program helped me to understand the perspectives and lived experiences of others, while providing me with the ability to articulate my own experiences openly.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe program provides individuals with the tools to develop skills that improve institutional and employee practices and behaviours around diversity, equity and inclusion,\u201d Harrison added. \u201cMore importantly, it also pushes individuals to approach such issues with a level of emotional intelligence, care and empathy for others.\u201d<\/p>\n

Completely free, the REDI series is an educational and professional development opportunity for the entire University community. Registration for the Winter 2019 REDI series is now open online.
