Dear colleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am pleased to inform the York community that, following a national and international search, Christine Brooks-Cappadocia<\/strong> has accepted our invitation to become assistant vice-president (AVP), continuing studies, commencing Sept. 1, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n

Christine has served as interim AVP since Feb. 1, and has held previous roles including executive director, programs and partnerships; director of professional education; and director of marketing and enrolment management in the School of Continuing Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school\u2019s Continuing Professional Education division is considered to be among the most innovative in the country. On May 1 of this year, the School of Continuing Studies launched its new, signature home on York\u2019s Keele Campus. The building allows the school more capacity, space and resources to support York\u2019s University Academic Plan 2020-2025<\/a>, and also enables the school to keep expanding 21st-century learning opportunities with innovative programs in emerging fields that meet the diverse needs of adult and non-traditional learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to joining York\u2019s School of Continuing Studies in 2014, Christine spent six years building and managing the marketing department at McMaster\u2019s Centre for Continuing Education. Her career highlights include supporting the launch of the 快播视频 School of Continuing Studies; the establishment of two endowed bursaries to support non-traditional students; the creation of several programs which are the first of their kind in Canada; launching a foundation to support at-risk youth; the development of the communications department for St. Joseph\u2019s Healthcare Foundation in Hamilton, Ont.; and the management of a high-profile event featuring former U.S. president Bill Clinton and former Ontario premier Bob Rae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has been privileged to serve in several governance roles in non-profit organizations, including as president and founding board member of the International Association of Business Communicators\u2019 Golden Horseshoe chapter, the vice-president of Community Arts Ontario and a founding board member of the Coalition of Ontario Voluntary Organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christine has earned several awards for marketing from the Association of Healthcare Philanthropists, the International Business Communicators and the Learning Resources Network. Christine holds a bachelor of fine arts from 快播视频 and a master of management, innovation and entrepreneurship from Queen\u2019s University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I look forward to working with Ms. Brooks-Cappadocia as she continues to bring leadership to this important role. I hope that all members of the 快播视频 community will join us in congratulating and welcoming her as a core member of the University\u2019s senior leadership team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J\u2019ai le plaisir d\u2019informer la communaut\u00e9 York qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019issue d\u2019une recherche nationale et internationale, Christine Brooks-Cappadocia<\/strong> a accept\u00e9 de devenir vice-pr\u00e9sidente adjointe (VPA), Formation continue, \u00e0 compter du 1er<\/sup> septembre 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mme Brooks-Cappadocia \u00e9tait VPA par int\u00e9rim depuis le 1er<\/sup> f\u00e9vrier 2023. Pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment, elle a occup\u00e9 les fonctions de directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des programmes et des partenariats, de directrice de la formation professionnelle et de directrice du marketing et de la gestion des inscriptions \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole de formation continue.<\/p>\n\n\n

La Division de formation professionnelle continue de l\u2019\u00c9cole est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme l\u2019une des plus innovantes du pays. Le 1er<\/sup> mai, l\u2019\u00c9cole de formation continue a inaugur\u00e9 son nouveau b\u00e2timent embl\u00e9matique sur le campus Keele de York. L\u2019\u00c9cole dispose d\u00e9sormais d\u2019une plus grande capacit\u00e9 et de plus d\u2019espace et de ressources pour appuyer le Plan acad\u00e9mique 2020-2025 de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 York.<\/a> Ce b\u00e2timent permet \u00e9galement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole de continuer \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper les possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019apprentissage pour le 21e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des programmes innovants dans des domaines \u00e9mergents qui r\u00e9pondent aux divers besoins des apprenants adultes et non traditionnels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avant de se joindre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole de formation continue de York en 2014, Mme Brooks-Cappadocia a pass\u00e9 six ans au Service de marketing du Centre de formation continue de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McMaster, d\u2019abord pour le mettre sur pied, puis pour le g\u00e9rer. Parmi les faits saillants de sa carri\u00e8re, citons son soutien au lancement de l\u2019\u00c9cole de formation continue de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 York, la cr\u00e9ation de deux bourses d\u2019\u00e9tudes pour soutenir les \u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants non traditionnels, la cr\u00e9ation de plusieurs programmes uniques en leur genre au Canada, le lancement d\u2019une fondation pour appuyer les jeunes \u00e0 risque, le d\u00e9veloppement du D\u00e9partement des communications de la St. Joseph\u2019s Healthcare Foundation \u00e0 Hamilton et la gestion d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement tr\u00e8s m\u00e9diatis\u00e9 mettant en vedette l\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident am\u00e9ricain Bill Clinton et l\u2019ancien premier ministre de l\u2019Ontario Bob Rae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
