快播视频\u2019s Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change<\/a> (EUC) will welcome London, Ont.-based artist Angie Quick<\/strong> as the Faculty\u2019s 2025 Artist-in-Residence, beginning Jan. 21.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Known for her evocative, emotionally charged paintings that explore intimacy and human connection, Quick\u2019s residency is poised to enrich York\u2019s vibrant arts community and inspire students to view the human experience through a creative lens.<\/p>\n\n\n

Quick\u2019s residency program, \u201cI Can\u2019t Come to the Party If I Won\u2019t Fall in Love,\u201d leads up to EUC\u2019s Eco Arts Festival in March and is part of Professor Andil Gosine'<\/strong>s Nature\u2019s Wild exhibition series, which features a student exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Artist-in-Residence program at EUC aims to foster dialogue between the arts, social change and environmental justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The residency will launch with an exhibition opening and artist talk on Jan. 21 at 2 p.m.<\/strong> at York\u2019s Cross Road Gallery<\/a> and Zig Zag Lounge. Quick\u2019s work invites audiences to explore the emotional undercurrents of celebrations \u2013 spaces where vulnerability and connection emerge amidst the revelry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe party serves as a transformative moment catalyzing a profound exploration of our individual experiences and emotional landscapes,\u201d says Quick. \u201cWhile the celebration unfolds around us, the atmosphere becomes charged with unspoken truths and vulnerabilities that resonate deeply within us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 3 to 4 p.m., participants can witness Quick\u2019s Psychic Watercolour Performance, an intimate and interactive session where she creates personalized watercolour paintings for up to 10 attendees, capturing their \u201cfortunes\u201d through psychic expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Jan. 22 from 2 to 3 p.m.<\/strong>, Quick will host an Intuitive Painting Workshop, offering students and participants the chance to explore gestural watercolour techniques. Through hands-on activities, attendees will create pieces that channel their desires and dreams, uncovering new ways to connect with their inner narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
