Olga Klushina (BEng ’21)

Olga Klushina is a biomedical engineer and entrepreneur passionate about improving patient care through human-centred medical technologies. Her journey began at ¿ì²¥ÊÓÆµ, where she studied Electrical Engineering and participated in the Bergeron Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology (BEST) program, sparking her drive to transform engineering ideas into real-world innovations. After graduating, she gained experience in System Engineering for battery management systems and Test Engineering at an X-ray imaging startup before being selected as an Innovation Fellow at Sunnybrook’s Medventions program, collaborating with clinicians to develop solutions for significant unmet surgical needs. Building on this foundation, Olga founded Oculum, a startup developing a surgical guidance tool for ophthalmic surgeries in partnership with Sunnybrook Hospital. Through participation in prominent accelerator and incubator programs, Oculum has strengthened its clinical and technical base and received multiple awards, including the RBCx Momentum Grand Prize for healthcare innovation.Â
