Research Team
Lee Mcloughlin is a graduate student pursuing a PhD in the Department of Global Sociocultural Studies at Florida International University. He received his BSc in marine biology from Newcastle University (UK) in 2007 and his MASc in protected areas management from James Cook University (Australia) in 2009. Since then, Lee has spent the last 12 years working in Central America and the Caribbean in conservation management and strategy, both with local and international NGOs and as an independent consultant. Lee is looking forward to reflecting on this experience to articulate lessons learned using a political ecology approach and focusing on the wonderful nation of Belize, where he now resides.
