Reminder BEd Students heading into Year 2 for FW 2026-2027 must submit Practicum Placement Zone preferences and School Board Choice by Friday, April 10, 2026.

ALL BEd students returning to complete Year 2 must submit their Practicum Placement Location/Zone Choice for the 2026-2027 academic year. Students will log on to the  (PIMs) to 

  1. Select the School Geographical Zone Preferences and
  2. The School Board choice of either Public or Catholic.

If you do not have the “Practicum Placement Preferences” option available to you, please email practicumoffice@edu.yorku.ca.

All students returning to complete their year 2 school practicum requirements this September, must submit a request for a school placement regardless of if one was previously submitted.  If preferences are not received by the deadline date, we cannot confirm a school placement for September 2026.

Please note, we only place within our six partner GTA School Boards, no exceptions are made. Students must be prepared to travel a minimum of 90 minutes to their school placement. Placements are confirmed according to geographical zone choice and not based on where a student resides.

Please be aware that all practicum placements are confirmed by our partner school boards and our ability to secure placements is dependent on the availability of host mentor teachers at participating schools---and include considerations for OCT practicum accreditation requirements. While you may request specific placement zones with our Practicum Office, we are at the invitation of our partner school boards to confirm these placements. We cannot guarantee placement availability in your requested zone/school board.

Students must apply for a new VSS for academic year 2026-2027. Please apply early, so that your new VSS has an issue date of July 1, 2026.

The Undergraduate Program Office will be offering two information sessions for those students in the BEd program who will be enrolled in Year 2 this F/W 2026-27 session. The sessions will be held in late May and all year 2 BEd students, including Primary/Junior Markham campus cohort and Catholic Education Centre PJ / JI cohort teacher candidates will be invited. Those students who cannot join the session we will be recording it and posting in the June 2026 newsletter. The registration link will be posted in the May newsletter.

Advising packages for BEd yr. 2 (Semester 3 and 4) 2026-27
The Students Services team will be working on the Yr. 2 Advising/Enrollment packages for FW 2026. Once the packages are complete, they will be sent by email to all students returning and continuing in the BEd program this September. Included in the package will be the courses, Monday - Friday class schedule (google program calendars), EDUC elective choices, ED 2 Practicum meetings, reminder to reapply for Police Record Check/VSS and any other important dates for FW 2026 academic year. We plan to have the packages ready the last week of May.


Grade requirements for the Bachelor of Education

  • Students will be ineligible to continue in the Bachelor of Education teaching certification degree / program if they receive less than a grade of C+ in any course taken for education credit.
  • 1st year BEd students are required to successfully complete the ED/EDPR 2000 (PASS grade) school-based practicum placement.
  • 2nd year BEd students are required to complete (with PASS grades) the three school-based practicum placements (EDPR 2000, EDPR 3000 and EDPR 4000) and one community placement (EDPR 1000).

School placements are supervised by an Ontario Certified Teacher. Students are required to complete all practicum days successfully in order to complete their degree programs. Further details on the practicum experience can be found online.

June 2026 graduation - BEd students’ Full membership with OCT  

BEd students graduating in June 2026 will be applying to the Ontario College of Teachers to become a certified member. There are several steps students will need to take to ensure there are no delays nominating BEd graduates.  Full nomination to the Ontario College of Teachers by the Faculty of Education will not be submitted until late May / early June 2026 when final grades and practicum days are completed successfully.

  1. Review the OCT application information at  
  2. Apply for OCT membership/registration:   Visit:  select Members and then Create an Account. In order for the BEd Student Services Office to send your recommendation, we require the six-digit OCT registration number for each graduating teacher candidate.
  3. Submit the six-digit Ontario College Teachers (OCT) registration number by June 1, 2026, to the Faculty of Education. The online form is available on the Faculty of Education websiteTeacher candidates who submitted Transitional OCT request Mach form can skip this step.
  4. Graduate (degree audit review):  Only Concurrent BEd students needed to apply to graduate online using the convocation website at    Deadline was March 1, 2026.  Students in the Consecutive BEd model will be automatically reviewed for degree completion.
  5. Send Transcripts to OCT ~ Graduating BEd teacher candidates will need to order all post-secondary transcripts and be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers. The Faculty of Education cannot order students transcripts; it’s the responsibility of students.   When ordering transcripts, please indicate that you wish for your 첥Ƶ transcript to be sent after degree completion. Please order your transcript while completing your OCT application, using the OUAC Transcript Request available at 
  6. Recommendation to OCT - The Faculty of Education will only send your recommendation to OCT following degree(s) completion. Transcripts ordered by the student and the recommendation sent by the Faculty of Education are required for certification.

This will also include the Toronto Metropolitan University ECS BA/PJ BEd students completing the teaching program requirements end of July and wishing to request the Transitional Certificate.  Information on the Transitional Certificate will be shared with the TMU BA/BEd students in April 2026.

Religious Education: Teaching in Catholic Schools – Who Should Attend
BEd students who will be completing their first or second year of the BEd and interested in preparing to teach in Catholic schools.   NOTE: This course is open only to 첥Ƶ Faculty of Education undergraduate students. This course is not equivalent to the Religious Education, Part 1 additional qualification. Students who are in the CEC BEd (Catholic Education Centre) cohort will have completed EDUC 3000 “Teaching in the Catholic Schools” in their first year of the BEd. Therefore, do not need to register.

Over the next few months, the Student Services Advising team will be sending out information regarding year 2.

Jamison Award - Consecutive BEd student (one recommendation letter from a member of YU Faculty of Education) The Award is based on academic promise and financial need. One recommendation letter from a member of 첥Ƶ’s Faculty of Education who is familiar with the applicant’s work is required. The recommendation letter must address academic promise.

Cornerstone Leadership on Action Award BEd graduating student (nomination letter) The award recognize students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential or ability and who embrace attributes such as honesty, integrity, passion, enthusiasm, innovation, creativity, humility and trustworthiness.

Patrick Solomon Memorial Award in Urban Diversity - BEd students (personal letter) Students will demonstrate a dedication to the principles of social justice, equity and community service, as demonstrated through course assignments, projects and initiatives.

In the Bachelor of Education (BEd) program, students complete both a community-based practicum placement and three school-based practicum placements. School placements are supervised by an Ontario Certified Teacher. Students are required to complete all practicum days successfully in order to complete their degree programs. Further details on the practicum experience can be found online.

June 2026 graduation - BEd students’ Full membership with OCT  

BEd students graduating in June 2026 will be applying to the Ontario College of Teachers to become a certified member. There are several steps students will need to take to ensure there are no delays nominating BEd graduates.  Full nomination to the Ontario College of Teachers by the Faculty of Education will not be submitted until late May / early June 2026 when final grades and practicum days are completed successfully.

  1. Review the OCT application information at  
  2. Apply for OCT membership/registration:   Visit:  select Members and then Create an Account. In order for the BEd Student Services Office to send your recommendation, we require the six-digit OCT registration number for each graduating teacher candidate.
  3. Submit the six-digit Ontario College Teachers (OCT) registration number by June 1, 2026, to the Faculty of Education. The online form is available on the Faculty of Education websiteTeacher candidates who submitted Transitional OCT request machform can skip this step.
  4. Apply to graduate (degree audit review):   Only Concurrent BEd students need to apply to graduate online using the convocation website at    Deadline to apply is March 1, 2026.  Please note, Concurrent BEd students may only see their Bachelor of Education record when requesting to graduate.  These students will also need to submit a request for a degree audit of their undergraduate program.  The form to submit the request is  . Students in the Consecutive BEd model will be automatically reviewed for degree completion.
  5. Send Transcripts to OCT ~ Graduating BEd teacher candidates will need to order all post-secondary transcripts and be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers. The Faculty of Education cannot order students transcripts; it’s the responsibility of students.   When ordering transcripts, please indicate that you wish for your 첥Ƶ transcript to be sent after degree completion. Please order your transcript while completing your OCT application, using the OUAC Transcript Request available at 
  6. Recommendation to OCT - The Faculty of Education will only send your recommendation to OCT following degree(s) completion. Transcripts ordered by the student and the recommendation sent by the Faculty of Education are required for certification.

This will also include the Toronto Metropolitan University ECS BA/PJ BEd students completing the teaching program requirements end of July and wishing to request the Transitional Certificate.  Information on the Transitional Certificate will be shared with the TMU BA/BEd students in April 2026.

Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT)  Reminder the Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT) is a certification requirement for teachers who will be certified in Ontario. Year 2 BEd students should be planning to do the test prior to June 2026 convocation. But this is not a requirement for graduation.     INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN RESEARCH ON: Learning Black History and Preparing Ontario Teacher Candidates to Work With Culturally Diverse Students

    We invite you (teacher candidate) to participate in a study exploring Ontario teacher candidates’ experiences with learning about Black history and cultures and with learning to teach students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

    This research study explores the experiences of Ontario teacher candidates with learning about Black history and cultures. We are seeking teacher candidates who have completed at least 1 year in their teacher training program to participate in the study.
    Participants will take part in a one-on-one interview which will last between 45 minutes to 1 hour. They will also complete a short sociodemographic questionnaire containing questions such as age, ethnicity, social class and similar demographic questions.
    Each participant will receive a $25 electronic gift card as a thank you for their time.

    Grade requirements for the Bachelor of Education

    • Students will be ineligible to continue in the Bachelor of Education teaching certification degree / program if they receive less than a grade of C+ in any course taken for education credit.
    • 2nd year BEd students are required to successfully complete the community placement and the three school-based practicum placements.
    • 1st year BEd students are required to successfully complete the three school-based practicum placements.

    BEd students moving into year 2 for FW 2026-27

    Over the next few months, the Student Services Advising team will be sending out information regarding year 2.

    March – April:  Practicum Information Management System (PIMs) ALL BEd students moving into year 2 will submit their Practicum Placement Location/Zone Choice for the 2026-27 academic year. Students will log on to the PIMs to select school geographical zone preferences and School Board choice of either Public or Catholic. The online form will be available from early March through to mid-April.  The exact dates/times will be shared in the March newsletter.

    Last week May:  Advising packages for BEd students yr.  2 (Semester 3 and 4) 2026-27
    The Students Services team will be working on the Yr. 2 Advising/Enrollment packages for FW 2026.   Once the packages are complete (we hope by mid-May) they will be sent by email to all students moving into year 2 for September.  Included in the package will be the course schedule, Monday - Friday class schedule, F/W ED elective choices, ED 2 Practicum meetings, reminder to reapply for Police Record Check/VSS and any important dates for FW 2026 academic year.  We will also plan two virtual information sessions in late May to go over the advising packages and answer questions.

    Mid-June: Remind students to enroll in EDPR 3000, EDPR 4000 and remaining ED/EDUC electives needed for the teaching certification.  Earliest the enrolment window dates will be is mid-June.

    Transitional Certificate

    Year 2 BEd students who requested the transitional OCT certificate and competed the steps by the deadlines, the Report from Faculty will be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) by Friday, January 16th.

    It is the student’s responsibility to complete any outstanding OCT application requirements, including ordering official transcripts. If you have not already done so, you can visit to request your 첥Ƶ undergraduate transcript. You will then need to access your transcript via MyCreds and share that document with OCT. You can visit for more information on accessing and sharing documents.

    Any questions about ordering transcripts should be directed to the Registrar’s Office. Please note that the undergraduate degree transcript at 첥Ƶ includes your BEd academic record as well as your previous undergraduate degree if you graduated from 첥Ƶ.

    Grade requirements for the Bachelor of Education

    • Students will be ineligible to continue in the Bachelor of Education teaching certification degree / program if they receive less than a grade of C+ in any course taken for education credit.

    In the Bachelor of Education (BEd) program, students complete both a community-based practicum placement and three school-based practicum placements. School placements are supervised by an Ontario Certified Teacher. Students are required to complete all practicum days successfully in order to complete their degree programs. Further details on the practicum experience can be found online.

    Reminder BEd students need to have the following number of ED/EDUC electives

    Maximum numbers of electives completed for the BEd:

    • Primary/Junior candidates must complete a total of three elective courses - one math based, one language/literacy based and one open choice to satisfy their BEd degree requirements.
    • Junior/Intermediate candidates must complete a total of two elective courses - one Math or Literacy based and one open choice to satisfy their BEd degree requirements.
    • Intermediate/Senior and Technological Education candidates must complete a total of three elective courses to satisfy their BEd degree requirements.
    • Glendon FSL BEd –  PJ and JI one Math elective and IS one open elective

    BA Educational Studies and Bachelor of Education (BEd) Concurrent students ~ Apply to graduate (degree audit review):  

    BA EDST students need to apply to graduate online by visiting the Convocation Website at  . 

    Concurrent BEd students: please note you may only see the Bachelor of Education record when requesting to graduate online.  These students will also need to submit a request for a degree audit of their undergraduate program.  The form to submit the request is  .

    Deadline to apply is March 1, 2026.

    Students in the Consecutive BEd model will be automatically reviewed for degree completion.

    June 2026 graduation - BEd students’ Full membership with OCT  

    BEd students graduating in June 2026 will be applying to the Ontario College of Teachers to become a certified member. There are several steps students will need to take to ensure there are no delays nominating BEd graduates.  Full nomination to the Ontario College of Teachers by the Faculty of Education will not be submitted until late May / early June 2026 when final grades and practicum days are completed successfully.

    1. Review the OCT application information at  
    2. Apply for OCT membership/registration:   Visit:  select Members and then Create an Account. In order for the BEd Student Services Office to send your recommendation, we require the six-digit OCT registration number for each graduating teacher candidate.
    3. Submit the six-digit Ontario College Teachers (OCT) registration number by June 1, 2026, to the Faculty of Education. The online form is available on the Faculty of Education website. Teacher candidates who submitted Transitional OCT request machform can skip this step.
    4. Apply to graduate (degree audit review):   Only Concurrent BEd students need to apply to graduate online using the convocation website at    Deadline to apply is March 1, 2026.  Please note, Concurrent BEd students may only see their Bachelor of Education record when requesting to graduate.  These students will also need to submit a request for a degree audit of their undergraduate program.  The form to submit the request is  . Students in the Consecutive BEd model will be automatically reviewed for degree completion.
    5. Send Transcripts to OCT ~ Graduating BEd teacher candidates will need to order all post-secondary transcripts and be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers. The Faculty of Education cannot order students transcripts; it’s the responsibility of students.   When ordering transcripts, please indicate that you wish for your 첥Ƶ transcript to be sent after degree completion. Please order your transcript while completing your OCT application, using the OUAC Transcript Request available at 
    6. Recommendation to OCT - The Faculty of Education will only send your recommendation to OCT following degree(s) completion. Transcripts ordered by the student and the recommendation sent by the Faculty of Education are required for certification.

    This will also include the Toronto Metropolitan University ECS BA/PJ BEd students completing the teaching program requirements end of July and wishing to request the Transitional Certificate.  Information on the Transitional Certificate will be shared with the TMU BA/BEd students in April 2026.


    Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT)  Reminder the Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT) is a certification requirement for teachers who will be certified in Ontario.     Religious Education: Teaching in Catholic Schools – Who Should Attend
    Any undergrad BEd student in the final year (yr 2) of BEd and interested in preparing to teach in Catholic schools.   NOTE: This course is open only to 첥Ƶ Faculty of Education undergraduate students. This course is not equivalent to the Religious Education, Part 1 additional qualification. Students who are in the CEC BEd (Catholic Education Centre) cohort will have completed EDUC 3000 “Teaching in the Catholic Schools” in their first of the BEd. Therefore, do not need to register.

    We hope the Orientation for the new BA Educational Studies students was helpful and off to a good start to the school year.  The Office of Student Services will be sharing the slides/information from the August 27th Orientation with all the first BA students via email in the month of September.

    And welcome to the first year BEd students to the Faculty of Education.  We had a busy August 25th week with new student orientation for those teacher candidates pursuing the teacher education programs at the Keele Campus, Catholic Education Centre, Glendon FSL BEd and the new cohort of students who are pursuing the Primary/Junior teaching certification at the Markham campus.

    Year 2 BEd P/J and JI students (ED/EDPJ/JI 3100 and 3000)
    Primary/Junior and Junior/Intermediate students will see on the BEd Program Calendar /edu/students/undergraduate-programs/bed-program-calendars/  ED/EDPJ 3000/ 3100 for Primary/Junior and  ED/EDJI 3000 /3100 for Junior/Intermediate students. These courses are six weeks and posted as WA = starts January first six weeks in winter and WB = starts mid-February last six weeks   These courses won’t plot to the Undergraduate Students Timetable schedule Monday to Friday because the session codes are not familiar to YU system.  But you can see the time, day and session code WA and WB in writing under Important Notes in Search Course Timetables

    Awards and Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

    Awards and bursaries are available to Faculty of Education students to assist with the cost of university tuition. If you meet the criteria of academic excellence and financial need, you are encouraged to apply.

    There are several deadlines.

    • Complete the Student Financial Services  which is available now.

    • The awards may require a personal statement and / or a letter of recommendation.

    Bachelor of Education (BEd) course requirements
    Students needing to double check the course requirements for the BEd program should visit YU Academic Calendar's.  Courses and Practicum requirements for all the teaching panels are posted. Visit 

    Grade requirements for the Bachelor of Education

    • Students will be ineligible to continue in the Bachelor of Education program if they receive less than a grade of C+ in any course taken for education credit.
    • In the Bachelor of Education (BEd) program, students complete both a community-based practicum placement and three school-based practicum placements. School placements are supervised by an Ontario Certified Teacher. Students are required to complete all practicum days successfully in order to complete their degree programs.

    Advising packages and ED/EDUC electives for BEd year 2 students (Semester 3 and 4) 2025-26

    The Faculty of Education Students Services team has completed most of the Year 2 BEd students’ enrollment.  Please check your record to see your schedule. 

    • Check student course schedule   Visit  and then select "Plot My Timetable" under Courses & Enrolment.
    • Visit BEd Google Calendars  /edu/students/undergraduate-programs/bed-program-calendars/  Please note you will just see the course sections but not the rooms courses are held in.

    Year 2 Education Electives, enrol August 1, 2025. 

    The ED/EDUC electives are now posted and will be open for enrollment on Friday August 1, 2025. Please note there is no guarantee of getting into the elective course(s) that you would prefer. You are encouraged to consider alternate options for such courses.  Year 2 elective course options are offered in the fall and winter term. Any further updates/changes to the EDUC electives will be posted on the BEd Program Calendars Visit:  /edu/students/undergraduate-programs/  and select BEd Program Calendars and you will see the 2025 elective offerings for the teaching certification/cohort you are in.

    BA EDST 3999 EIC 6.0 FW 2025-26

    BA Educational Studies students who have enrolled in ED/EDST 3999 6.00 for this coming F/W 2025 -26 year are required to complete the Community Practicum Preference form (TBA) and apply for a police record check with an issue date of July 1, 2025.  Please continue to check emails over the next few weeks (first two weeks of August as important information regarding community practicum preferences will be provided.

    ED/EDST 3999Experience, Inquire and Contribute (EIC).    The EIC offers learning placements within the community or in related organizations as part of the Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies program. The placements are workplace-based learning to put theory to practice in the field of learning and education.

    Required: Students enrolling in ED/EDST 3999 6.00 must have a VSS for the academic year 2025-2026. Please apply early, so that your new VSS has an issue date of July 1, 2025.

    BEd students moving into Year 2 FW 2025-26
    The Undergraduate Program Office held two Town Hall meetings for students in the BEd program and who will be enrolled in Year 2 this F/W 2024-25 session. For those of you who could not join us, we recorded one of the sessions.첥Ƶ. Faculty of Education Information Session year 2 BEd:

    Advising packages for ED 2 (Semester 3 and 4) 2025-26
    The Student Services team have posted the Year 2 Advising/Enrollment packages here: /edu/students/undergraduate-programs/bed-program-calendars/

    Included in the packages are the course schedules, a reminder to reapply for Police Record Check/VSS, and any important dates for the FW 2025 academic year.  The date to enroll in EDPR 3000 and EDPR 4000 was on June 19th 2025.

    The Faculty of Education Students Services team will enroll the BEd students in the required courses by mid/late July therefore its required students enroll in the EDPR courses no later than June 30th for the Student Services team to complete the remaining enrolment of courses. Year 2 BEd students will enroll in their ED/EDUC elective(s) end of July/early August after the Student Services team have enrolled students in their courses.

    Reminder: Police record/VSS for FW 2025-25 In School Placement is required and students should have it no later than September 1.

    Bachelor of Education (BEd) course requirements
    Students needing to double check the course requirements for the BEd program should visit YU Academic Calendar's.  Courses and Practicum requirements for all the teaching panels are posted. Visit 

    Grade requirements for the Bachelor of Education

    • Students will be ineligible to continue in the Bachelor of Education teaching certification degree / program if they receive less than a grade of C+ in any course taken for education credit.
    • In the Bachelor of Education (BEd) program, students complete both a community-based practicum placement and three school-based practicum placements. School placements are supervised by an Ontario Certified Teacher. Students are required to complete all practicum days successfully in order to complete their degree programs. Further details on the practicum experiencecan be found online.

    Courses for BA Educational Studies students

    BA students looking to plan more EDST courses for FW 2025-26, please note we will be working on adding more courses at the 2000 and 3000 level. BA EDST students who are year 2 (level 2) should try and plan two ED/EDST courses at the 2000 level and two courses at the 3000 level. The Office of Students Services hosted a two virtual information sessions in mid-March inviting year one BA EDST students moving into year two (level one to level two) an overview of the BA EDST course requirements, Degree Progress Report and courses. The session was recorded: 

    As well, BA students should look at courses outside of BA EDST - If you are trying to add a course through another program/faculty you may need to email the department for permission.   Visits    Look at Course Contact Directory - add the course interest in i.e.. HUMA and select the faculty that offers it.  Email the department and share your full name, student number, your in the BA EDST program - Faculty of Education and the course number and section requesting permission to add.

    BA EDST 3999 EIC 6.0 FW 2025-26

    BA Educational Studies students who have or are enrolling in ED/EDST 3999 6.00 for this coming F/W 2025 -26 year are required to complete the Community Practicum Preference form (TBA) and apply for a police record check with an issue date of July 1, 2025.  Please that was recorded in early June 2025 to ensure you are following the requirements for ED/EDST 3999 enrolment and the VSS.

    ED/EDST 3999 - Experience, Inquire and Contribute (EIC).    The EIC offers learning placements within the community or in related organizations as part of the Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies program. The placements are workplace-based learning to put theory to practice in the field of learning and education.

    Required: Students enrolling in ED/EDST 3999 6.00 must have a VSS for the academic year 2025-2026. Please apply early, so that your new VSS has an issue date of July 1, 2025.


    BA EDST students moving into Level 4 ED/EDST 4999 6.00 (IEC/C4)
    BA students who are moving into level 4 for FW 2025-26 (will have completed ED/ EDST 3999) can plan one of the two IEC options.

      Students interested in the C4: Cross Campus Capstone Classroom must apply for the C4 Fall/Winter 2025/2026 session. Registration is open now for the C4 option and can plan to attend an information session to get more information on this option.

    Bachelor of Education students October convocation  
    BEd students graduating in October 2025 will be applying to the Ontario College of Teachers to become a certified member. There are several steps students will need to take to ensure there are no delays nominating BEd graduates.  

    • Review the OCT application information at  
    • Apply for OCT membership/registration: Visit: select Members and then Create an Account. In order for the BEd Student Services Office to send your recommendation, we require the six-digit OCT registration number for each graduating teacher candidate.
    • Submit the six-digit Ontario College Teachers (OCT) registration number ASAP to the Faculty of Education. The online form is available on the Faculty of Education website. Full nomination to the Ontario College of Teachers by the Faculty of Education can only be submitted with your OCT registration number.
    • Send Transcripts to OCT~ Graduating BEd teacher candidates will need to order all post-secondary transcripts and be sent to the Ontario College of Teachers. The Faculty of Education cannot order students transcripts; it's the responsibility of students.  Please order your transcript while completing your OCT application, using the OUAC Transcript Request available at .  When ordering transcripts, please indicate that you wish for your 첥Ƶ transcript to be sent after degree completion.
    • Recommendation to OCT- The Faculty of Education will only send your recommendation to OCT following degree(s) completion. Transcripts ordered by the student and the recommendation sent by the Faculty of Education are required for certification.

    The Faculty of Education will use the information (OCT Registry number) submitted by those students who requested Transitional OCT Certification for final OCT recommendation/submission. Students will need to re-order their 첥Ƶ. transcript to show conferral of the BEd degree to OCT.

    This will also apply to the Toronto Metropolitan University ECS BA/PJ BEd students completing the teaching program requirements at the end of July and requesting the Transitional Certificate.


    BA Educational Studies Students - Program requirements
    Students pursuing the BA Educational Studies program should look at the Degree Progress Report, to keep track of courses completed and what may still be required. For the degree Academic regulations and requirements visit Academic Calendars at 


    Religious Education: Teaching in Catholic Schools – Who Should Attend
    BEd students who will be completing their first or second year of the BEd and interested in preparing to teach in Catholic schools.  Course Format - Fully Online and offered in the Summer, Fall and Winter sessions A Certificate of Completion is provided upon successful completion.

    NOTE: This course is not equivalent to Religious Education, Part 1 additional qualification. Students who are in the CEC BEd (Catholic Education Centre) cohort will have completed EDUC 3000 “Teaching in the Catholic Schools” in their first year of the BEd.


    Students with a diagnosed disability are encouraged to connect with York’s Accessibility Services (SAS).     Mental Health and Wellness at 첥Ƶ. Students needing assistance or support beyond their course work are encouraged to visit the resources available to them at YU. .
    As well, students needing non-Academic Counselling can contact Student Counselling and Development (SCD) This unit helps York students to realize, develop and fulfill their personal potential in order to maximally benefit from their university experience and manage the challenges of university life. Students come to SCD because of a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, abuse, stress, self-esteem, relationship issues, eating and body image as well as issues related to sexuality, short-term individual, couple, and group counselling, crisis intervention and consultations regarding students in distress/crisis and issues related to overall mental health.
