Partner Summer Schools

With a summer program through one of our global partners, you can study abroad for 2鈥6 weeks between May and August while earning credit toward your degree.

Programs are open to all Health students who meet the eligibility requirements set by the host institution and include health-focused courses with experiential learning components.

Apply before March 1st

Students must apply for a Letter of Permission in advance of taking the course and seek approval from their School or Department to apply credits earned towards their electives.

Featured Summer Programs - 2026

University of Health & Allied Sciences (UHAS)
Location: Ho, Ghana


This program offers interactive workshops on socio-cultural health issues and traditional medicine. Hosted by the University of Health and Allied Sciences, it emphasizes direct community engagement and African health systems. 


Dates: Available sessions include April鈥揓une and July鈥揝eptember 2026.
Academic Credit: Learning is delivered through interactive workshops and community service.
Activities: Students participate in health-related workshops and visit beautiful tourist sites.
Location: Held at the Main Campus in Ho, Volta Region, Ghana.
Costs: Fixed fees of $1,580 for 2 weeks or $1,963 for 3 weeks cover all in-country expenses.

York Las Nubes EcoCampus
Location: San Isidro, Costa Rica


This experiential program focuses on tropical ecology and sustainability through direct engagement with rural Costa Rican communities. Students learn firsthand about conservation and social justice from local producer cooperatives and indigenous groups. 


Dates: 10 days for Summer courses, 9 days for Winter/Fall courses
Academic Credit: Participants earn 3 elective credits per course.
Activities: The curriculum includes lectures, hikes, visits to local sites, and hands-on projects with local organizations.
Location: The program is held at the Las Nubes EcoCampus in Southern Costa Rica.
Costs: Tuition is based on 快播视频 standard credit rates plus a program fee.

Shandong Second Medical University (SDSMU)
Location: Weifang, China


This program at Shandong Second Medical University explores the intersection of Traditional Chinese Medicine and modern healthcare. Students gain practical medical knowledge while experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the Shandong province.


Dates: The program runs from June 1 to June 14, 2026.
Academic Credit: Participants receive Certificates of Completion.
Activities: The schedule includes hospital visits, Tai Chi practicals, calligraphy, and a day trip to Qingdao.
Location: The program is hosted by Shandong Second Medical University in Weifang, China.
Costs: An all-inclusive fee of RMB 9,000 covers housing, meals, and group transportation.

International Summer University (ISU)Location: Fulda, Germany


The ISU is a four-week program combining interdisciplinary seminars with German language courses for students interested in society, culture, and international business. Participants immerse themselves in everyday German life within a diverse international community.


Dates: The program takes place from July 6 to August 1, 2026.
Academic Credit: Seminars cover global issues, sustainability, health, and international business.
Activities: Participants explore the baroque city of Fulda through academic and cultural exchange.
Location: The program is hosted by Hochschule Fulda (University of Applied Sciences) in Germany.
Costs: This is a joint initiative supported by the Hessian Ministry of Higher Education.

Sakina's Summer in Ho, Ghana

During her 1-month study abroad experience, Sakina gained valuable insights into how health and medicine are taught in Ho, Ghana, at the University of Health & Allied Sciences.

鈥淚 built on my critical thinking skills, how I think about the world and the connection between education and society. As a psychology student, I had the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of people and learn about how cultural circumstance impacts the health and wellbeing of others鈥.

Sheria's Summer in Fulda, Germany

Sheria did her summer study abroad program with Fulda University of Applied Sciences in Germany, where she explored the methods used to address health concerns post-war and during pandemics.

鈥淭his experience has shed light on how health operates within diverse societies worldwide, taking into account critical factors like history, generational trauma, and societal influences on overall well-being. Different countries deal with health concerns in different ways. Through this course, I was able to learn about health on a global scale and how  health is viewed in different parts of the world鈥.

Robyn's Summer in Ho, Ghana

While at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho, Ghana, Robyn appreciated the blended classroom experience as she participated in field trips, community engagement, volunteer opportunities, and cultural networking events.

鈥淭his holistic approach used in the program in Ho, Ghana was vital for gaining firsthand insights into healthcare challenges, cultural dynamics, and fostering a well-rounded understanding of health and wellness in the region. Earn Credits

Depending on the structure of the courses and whether an exchange agreement is in place, students may enroll at York through an INEX course.  For INEX courses, students pay tuition to 快播视频 and the course fees to the partner to receive credits towards their degree as if on exchange.

Alternatively, students can apply for a Letter of Permission (LOP) in advance of taking the course and seek approval from their School or Department to apply credits earned towards their electives. Visit the website for more information about eligibility, fees and deadlines.
