Our Open Educational Resources in FSL micro-credential is a flexible, self-paced program designed to help educators confidently create, use, and share OER. Developed in partnership with Camerise K-12 Studio, the course connects theory and practice by guiding you through the principles of Creative Commons licensing and copyright. Participants will design and share their own Open Educational Resource, tailored to their teaching context and aligned with the Ontario curriculum.

About the Course

This flexible, self-paced micro-credential is designed for FSL teachers who want to integrate Open Educational Resources into their teaching practice. Developed by experts in FSL and open resource design, the course combines theory and practice to support innovation, collaboration, and equitable access to high-quality instructional materials.

Participants will:

  • Deepen their understanding of Open Educational Resources and their benefits for teaching
  • Explore different types of Creative Commons licenses and their application in educational contexts
  • Learn how to create, adapt, and share Open Educational Resources while respecting copyright
  • Design and publish their own Open Educational Resource tailored to their teaching context

Mirela Cherciov, Associate Researcher, Pauline de Bot, Instructional Designer, and Muriel Péguret, Associate Professor, bring extensive experience in FSL teaching and research on bilingual competency development. They are part of the team leading Camerise K-12 Studio, an innovative collaborative platform that enables FSL teachers to discover, create, and share Open Educational Resources for the classroom.

By providing access to a wide range of adaptable resources aligned with the Ontario curriculum and grounded in the realities of an increasingly diverse learner population, Camerise K-12 Studio contributes to national efforts to strengthen teacher retention in FSL education across Canada.

Important Notes

Please note that our language lessons are non-credit, meaning they do not count toward credit for a degree-granting program. These courses are designed for skill enhancement, whether for personal interest or professional development.

Glendon Continuing Education reserves the right to change or cancel course offerings in the event of mitigating circumstances. If we are no longer able to offer a course, or if you are unable to participate due to changes in the offerings, a full refund will be issued.

Participants who choose to withdraw after the course has started may be eligible for a partial refund, at the discretion of Glendon Continuing Education.
